The plate heat exchanger is a kind of widely used high efficient heat exchange equipment, which is applied to the industry departments of petroleum, chemical, mechanical, metallurgical, electric power, urban central heating and so on, and has achieved good results.
The plate heat exchanger has the following characteristics:
1, the heat transfer efficiency is high: the plate heat exchanger, because of its special corrugated shape, makes the fluid change the fluid direction between the plate and sheet continuously, and forms the turbulence, thus improving the heat transfer capacity, that is, the heat transfer coefficient is improved.
2, the versatility is strong: the plate heat exchanger is assembled by a number of sheets and gaskets alternately, and the heat transfer area of the plate heat exchanger can be properly increased within the allowable range of the length of the rod, that is, the heat exchange area can be assembled flexibly.  
3, flexible operation and wide application: it can increase or reduce the number of sheets to change the heating area or change the working conditions as required. The range of equipment specifications is very large. The heat exchange area of each device can be expanded between 1 and 1000 GG, and the equipment allowance is large.
4. The fluid movement in the inter - sheet channel of the heat exchanger is intense, and the surface is smooth. The formation of the scale is less, the working cycle is long, and the chemical method is easy to clean. It can greatly reduce the manpower, material and financial cost of the evaporation tank brush pipe during the small inspection or shutdown.
5. The plate plate of the heat exchanger is thinner and the pressure bearing capacity is low; especially for the contact point formed between the corrugated plates and the supporting type, it is easy to press the contact point into the pits after the age is long and the pressure size is beyond the requirements of the installation. Finally, it forms a perforation and makes the plate scrap.
Although plate heat exchangers have all these advantages, the working conditions of plate heat exchangers are limited due to their special structures and materials. Under the steam water exchange condition of the heat medium, the gasket is easy to age and thus leaks, so the plate of the plate heat exchanger must be replaced every two years. The maintenance cost is relatively large, so the plate heat exchanger is suitable for the water and water heat transfer condition.
