Working principle of cold dryer
The temperature of compressed air is reduced to the dew point of 2 ~ 10 ℃ by heat exchange between refrigerant and compressed air.
Solutions to the faults of the cold dryer system
（1） Refrigeration system failure
1. Expansion valve blocked
a. Symptoms: no flow observed by sight glass, ice and frost at the outlet of expansion valve, hot high-pressure pipe or high-pressure trip.
b. Causes: dirty blockage, ice blockage, temperature sensing capillary fracture
c. Processing steps:
① Adjust the superheat of expansion valve;
② Increase the temperature sensitivity and the pressure of PS;
③ Increase the high pressure (set value of fan pressure switch), close the hot gas bypass valve (hand valve), and conduct impact dirty plugging.
2. Dry filter clogged
a. Symptoms: the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of the dry filter is large, or frosting occurs at the outlet of the filter.
b. Treatment steps: replace the drying filter
Note: when the system is blocked and the equipment is in no-load operation, the high and low pressure values may be within the normal value range; when the equipment is in load operation, the high pressure is seriously high, or even the high pressure trips. In long-term operation, a large number of high-temperature and high-pressure gas from the hot gas bypass valve (hand valve) throttling directly back to the low-pressure return pipe, and then will cause the compressor to burn, high-pressure return pipe temperature hundreds, even cause the motor to burn. When the compressor is overheated, the internal thermal protection of the compressor starts to work for protection; the compressor can be restarted only after the temperature of the compressor cools naturally.
