The direct acting voltage regulator is the direct acting pressure regulator which only relies on the change of the outlet pressure of the sensitive element (leather film), and adjusts the pressure by moving the valve. The structural principle of the voltage regulator is shown in Figure 1.
Under normal conditions, the spring on the top of the membrane gives the force of the membrane downward and the gas pressure P under the membrane, and the downstream pressure in the pipeline is stable. When the outlet pressure is increased or the inlet pressure is reduced, the gas outlet pressure P decreases and causes PW. At this time, the membrane rises and the valve makes the opening decrease, and the pressure is gradually restored to the original state.

Therefore, no matter how the air consumption and inlet pressure change, the regulator can always automatically maintain a stable supply pressure through the adjustment of the spring. Therefore, the regulator and its connected pipe network is a self regulating system.
