A biphasic (austenite and ferrite) stainless steel optimized with nitrogen elements. The addition of nitrogen increases the resistance of the alloy to the uniform corrosion and the stress corrosion of the chloride. In many corrosive environments, the corrosion resistance of the alloy is better than that of 316 or 317 alloy, and the yield strength is higher than that of the traditional stainless steel.
Main uses
The alloy is superior to the ordinary 18 to 8 stainless steel because of its resistance to hydrides stress corrosion, point corrosion and crevice corrosion, so it is widely applied in industrial sewage, heat exchangers and condensers containing hydrogen and hydrogen sulfide industrial water heat exchangers.
The so-called double phase stainless steel is in its solid solution microstructure ferrite and austenite in each half, the content amount less also need to reach 30%. In the case of low C, the content of Cr is in 18%~28%, and the content of Ni is 3%~10%. Some of the steel also contain alloy elements such as Mo, Cu, Nb, Ti, N and so on. This kind of steel with austenite and ferrite stainless steel body, compared with ferrite, the plasticity and toughness are higher, no room temperature brittleness, intergranular corrosion resistance and welding performance was significantly improved, while also maintaining a ferritic stainless steel 475 DEG C brittleness and high thermal conductivity, superplasticity etc.. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, it has high strength, intergranular corrosion resistance and chloride stress corrosion resistance. The dual phase stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and is also a kind of stainless steel.
