The initial stress due to compressive deformation will gradually decrease with the relaxation of the O coil and the decrease of temperature, so as to disappear. And the higher the operating temperature, the greater the permanent deformation of the O ring. When the permanent deformation is greater than 40%, the leakage is lost and the sealing capacity is lost. Similarly, at very low temperatures, such as working below zero, the initial compression may decrease or completely disappear due to a sharp decrease in temperature. Therefore, in the design and use, we must try to ensure that the seal has a suitable working temperature, the corresponding selection of materials, such as the use of high temperature and low temperature O ring material, to extend service life.
