New chemical materials have become the world's most competitive place! China's opportunities and choices
On November 20, the China synthetic resin industry development conference and 2019 new material development trend forum with the theme of "win win cooperation, symbiosis and innovation" was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Experts at the meeting agreed: Although China's chemical new material industry has developed rapidly in recent years, it still needs to make up for the shortcomings, seize opportunities and innovate in the face of new requirements of the new era.

At the meeting, Zhao Jungui, vice president and Secretary General of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said that China's petroleum and chemical industry has entered a critical period of energy transformation and high-quality development. The extensive development stage of the large-scale expansion of the basic chemical industry has ended, the pressure of market constraints and ecological constraints has tightened, the market survival mechanism has begun to play a role, and China's chemical industry will enter a new era of intrinsic safety, green development and independent innovation.
Zeng Kun, deputy director of Materials Industry Research Institute of CCID Research Institute, Ministry of industry and information technology, introduced that the scale of China's chemical new material industry has gradually expanded, with the total output value expanding from 600 billion yuan in 2010 to 3.8 trillion yuan in 2018, with an average annual growth rate of more than 24%, far higher than the growth rate of GDP and industrial added value in the same period.
Engineering plastics is an important part of new chemical materials. Zhao Jungui pointed out that the "13th five year plan" is the fastest development period of China ' The standards to promote the development of engineering plastics industry have been released one after another; a number of engineering plastics enterprises and products have begun to enter the international market.

At the same time, Zhao Jungui pointed out that although China produces 39% of the world's chemicals, it only produces 15% of the world's new chemical materials, which is not commensurate with the status of a major chemical country, and the new chemical materials have become the biggest short board of China's chemical industry. ”
He said that at present, the self-sufficiency rate of China's new chemical materials is only 60%, far from meeting the needs of national economic development. There are still more than 130 varieties of new chemical materials urgently needed that cannot be produced in China, and some products have become the bottleneck restricting the development of China's strategic emerging industries. To promote the transformation of petrochemical industry from raw material type to material type and vigorously develop new chemical materials is one of the main tasks of the 14th five year plan.
He pointed out that there are still five outstanding problems in China's engineering plastics industry: first, the lack of high-end raw materials and diversification; second, the lack of leading role of leading enterprises, the serious homogenization competition of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the lack of specialized division of labor and cooperation; third, the imperfect innovation system and the incomplete innovation chain; fourth, the inadequate integration and development of industrial chain; fifth, the lack of strong innovation awareness Strong, the core competitiveness of the enterprise is not strong, too dependent on the traditional path, product innovation, process stability, high-performance functionality, technical service is not enough.
"New materials have become an indisputable place for economic, technological and military competition among the world's major countries, and also a place for future interests of the chemical industry," he said. The world's petrochemical industry has shifted its focus to the East, the economic development of developed countries has slowed down, the R & D speed has slowed down, and China's rapid rise has provided opportunities for China's new chemical material development to give full play to its late development advantages. ”
Zeng Kun pointed out that it is expected that there is still great uncertainty in the global economic recovery during the "14th five year plan". The reform of international economic and trade planning will continue to advance, China's economy will continue to maintain the new normal, and the development of high-quality industries will be promoted in depth. Facing the new situation, China's new chemical material industry should focus on & ldquo; meeting new requirements, seizing new opportunities and meeting new challenges & rdquo;. On the one hand, we should solve the problem of & ldquo; Neck & rdquo; material, on the other hand, we should lay a solid foundation for the new material industry, and achieve & ldquo; one generation of materials, one generation of industries & rdquo;.
At the same time, the conference held the docking forum of financial capital and real economy, the 13th ABC China Japan advanced polymer material seminar, the future development seminar of composite industry and the 15th General Meeting of the 15th session of unsaturated polyester resin branch, the 2025-2035 development planning seminar of PC industry, the new material application development Conference and the annual meeting of automobile lightweight non-metallic material industry alliance , 2019 Jimo graphene Industry Development Forum and other meetings. More than 600 industry leaders, experts, scholars and business guests from China, Japan, the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom attended the conference.
The conference is under the guidance of the Ministry of industry and information technology, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, sponsored by China synthetic resin supply and Marketing Association, and jointly sponsored by China automobile lightweight non metallic materials industry alliance.
