On January 29, Yankuang Luxi Power Generation Project 2 & times; 600,000 kW underground coal gasification power generation project officially started construction. This is the first large-scale underground coal gasification power generation project in Shandong Province, and it is also the renewal of green coal mining and utilization.
Yankuang Luxi Power Generation Project has a total investment of about 5.6 billion yuan, with a construction scale of 2-times; 600,000 kilowatt-class high-efficiency ultra-supercritical coal-fired condensation pumping generating units; at the same time, special railway lines for coal transportation, underground coal gasification power generation blending projects, simultaneous construction of desulfurization, denitrification facilities and related production, auxiliary production and ancillary projects. Unit 1 is scheduled to go into operation in February of 2021 and Unit 2 is scheduled to go into operation in May of 2021.
Industry experts said that the underground coal gasification technology has good economic and environmental benefits, realizing “ physical coal mining ” to “ chemical coal mining ” transformation will greatly improve the utilization rate and utilization level of coal resources, is an important research and development direction of clean coal technology in China.

After various purification processes and separation on the ground, the gas can be divided into two parts: one is compressed hydrogen, the other is pure carbon dioxide. Hydrogen can be used to generate electricity from energy fuel cells, while carbon dioxide can be captured and stored underground. Earlier, Yanzhou Mining Group, Shandong Heavy Industry and National Hui Investment co-sponsored the establishment of Shandong Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Industry Alliance, focusing on the hydrogen energy industry. This project has also become the best interpretation of Shandong's hydrogen energy development.

It is understood that Luxi Power Generation Co., Ltd. 2 & times; 600,000 kW underground coal gasification power generation project is located in Zoucheng Taiping Town Industrial Park, approved and approved by Shandong Development and Reform Commission in 2016. After the project is completed and put into operation, it can generate 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The steam and heat load of the cogeneration industry is 100 tons/hour, and the heating area of the eastern urban area of Jining is 23 million square meters. It has become the heat source of central heating in the key cities of Jining.
