At the 2019 Petrochemical Industry Development Conference, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation issued the "Capacity Early Warning Report of Key Chemical Products in 2019".
According to the Report, in 2018, China ranked seventh, seventh and second in the world in oil production, natural gas production and crude oil processing, respectively. Inorganic raw materials, ethylene, methanol, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and synthetic rubber production ranked first in the world. The average productivity utilization rate of 30 main petrochemical products monitored by the Petrochemical Federation is 76.4%, which is nearly 3 percentage points higher than that of the previous year. Except for polycarbonate, caprolactam, PX, PTA and other products, the productivity utilization rate of other basic chemical products remained basically stable, olefins, PX, polyethylene, polypropylene and other products continued to maintain high-load operation, and domestic supply support capacity continued to improve.
The report mentions that in the next few years, with the rapid rise of large-scale petrochemical bases along the coast, the provincial demonstration of modern coal chemical projects will be accelerated, a large number of large-scale refining and chemical integration and modern coal chemical projects will be put into operation, the domestic production capacity of refined oil, olefins, aromatics, ethylene glycol, polycarbonate and other products will increase substantially, and the domestic petrochemical industry and market supply and demand pattern will undergo significant changes.
Sun Weishan, deputy secretary-general of the Federation of Petrochemical Industry, pointed out that in the next few years, oil refining, olefins, aromatics, ethylene glycol, polycarbonate and other products will usher in the peak of production expansion, especially & ldquo; 145-rdquo; during this period, a large number of new production capacity will be released centrally, and domestic products such as olefins, aromatics, ethylene glycol, polycarbonate will basically meet the market demand, and the domestic market competition of refined oil products will be fierce. The capacity of chlor-alkali, soda ash, chemical fertilizer, acetic acid, synthetic rubber and other products has remained stable or decreased slightly. With the transfer or withdrawal of some enterprises, the concentration of the industry has been continuously increased. Besides the project matching, the growth rate of new capacity is slow.
Therefore, Sun Weishan said that the industry should focus on the primary processing capacity of crude oil, p-xylene, propylene oxide, acrylonitrile, polyethylene, polypropylene, polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate, caprolactam, PTA, TDI and other products. At the same time, we should attach great importance to the safety and environmental protection of the operation of the industry, as well as the green, sustainable and high-quality development issues, and further enhance the level of international cooperation in the industry.
