On September 4, the founding ceremony of PetroChina Lanzhou Petrochemical Changqing Ethylene Projects was held in Yuheng Industrial Zone, Yulin, Shaanxi Province. Lan Jianwen, Deputy Secretary-General of Shaanxi Provincial Government, attended and announced the start of the project.
This is the first ethane ethylene plant with independent intellectual property rights in China, which has been listed in the national demonstration project. The total investment of this project is about 10.4 billion yuan, mainly using ethane separated from natural gas in Changyou Qingtian to produce ethylene, fuel gas, carbon trioxide and recombination products by pyrolysis, and to produce polyethylene by polymerization. Including 800,000 tons/year ethylene, 400,000 tons/year FDPE, 400,000 tons/year HDPE and 30,000 tons/year butene-1.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020 and started in June 2021. After completion, it will improve the utilization efficiency of natural gas resources and the competitiveness of ethylene products, promote the extension of ethylene industry chain in Yuheng Industrial Park, and promote the development of high-end fine chemical industry in Yuheng Industrial Park.
