At about 12:20 noon on September 2, 2018, an accident occurred in Zhongcheng Zaoyang Chemical Co., Ltd. of Wangwan Community, Nancheng City, Zaoyang City, Hubei Province, with an area of nearly 200 square meters. After the accident, the local government immediately started the emergency rescue plan for production safety accidents, and organized the safety supervision, fire protection, environmental protection departments to rush to the scene for rescue in the first time. After fighting, around 15:30, the fire was extinguished. After investigation, no casualties were found in the fire. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

On the noon of September 2, the workshop of Zhongcheng Chemical Co., Ltd. caught fire in the process of producing benzaldehyde, and the disposal was timely. No casualties were found.
According to the company staff who participated in the initial fire fighting when the accident happened, at about 12:20 noon on the same day, during the production of benzaldehyde, when the receiving tank was pumped out, the receiving tank broke down, the materials in the tank flushed out, and the materials overflowed into the heat conducting oil pipeline. The high temperature heat conducting oil ignited the materials and triggered a fire.
After the accident, our city attached great importance to the emergency rescue plan, immediately started, organized security supervision, public security, fire protection, environmental protection, health, power supply, gas and other units rushed to the scene in the first time to carry out emergency rescue. The environmental protection departments of Xiangyang and our city have taken effective measures to interrupt the effluent discharging from the factory in time and introduce it into the emergency pool. Around 15:30, the fire was extinguished under the reinforcement of 10 fire engines in Xiangyang fire brigade. After investigation, the company burned area of nearly 200 square meters, no casualties in the fire.
From 13:00 to 19:00, the city environmental monitoring department continuously monitored the PH value of the Shahe River, 5 kilometers downstream of the company. After consultation with environmental experts at Xiangyang and our city, it was judged that the accident had no significant impact on the water quality of the Shahe River outside the factory. During the fire disposal, the emission of gas and smoke has a certain impact on the local ambient air quality, but it dissipates quickly under the weather conditions on that day. Environmental monitoring departments will continue to monitor the water quality of the Shahe River in stages and publish the results of water quality monitoring in the first time.
At present, our city has set up an accident investigation team to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the specific causes of the accident.
